Seafood Cooking Demo and Tasting at LBI Foundation June 15

Long Beach Township — The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is serving up seafood! This Saturday, June 15, oysterman and chef Theo Gerike will present a cooking demonstration and tasting featuring fresh local fare such as scallops and oysters.

Sessions will run at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cost is $45 per person, and proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization ReClam the Bay and the LBI Foundation. (There are no LBIF member discounts for this event, and class vouchers are not redeemable, as it is a fundraiser.)

“Chef Theo will provide simple tips and tricks anyone can learn,” ReClam explains. “You’ll sample the dishes he prepares and learn about how the seafood delicacies are grown and caught. BYO if you want!”

A cash raw bar will also be available, with clams and oysters.

And, the nonprofit adds, “if you would like to prepare your own Father’s Day feast, recipes, instructions and all of the raw product will be available to purchase and take home.”
