Say “I do” to the 11th annual LBI Wedding Road Show & Party Planning Tour, which showcases the greater Long Beach Island area’s venues and professionals. The free, self-guided event – scheduled for Sunday, April 28 – is organized by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. Sign up and start devising the perfect milestone celebration.

“Perfect sunsets, pristine beaches, beautiful venues and customized services: This is what the LBI Region Wedding Road Show & Party Planning tour provides,” chamber CEO Lori A. Pepenella explained.

“There is no cost to the attendees to register or take in the excitement of the event,” she added. “For over a decade, this event has brought thousands seeking the services and locations for their special day, helping shape the Long Beach Island region into a true wedding and special event destination.”

The Mainland Holiday Inn, at 151 Route 72 East in Manahawkin, will be the registration and check-in location. In addition, The Mainland will provide breakfast and tours of its wedding venue and guest rooms.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and will be open until 1 p.m. Registered attendees will be given their routes to then depart on their own for touring, tastings, samples and giveaways. Road Show touring hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Venues that will have party professionals on site include: Surf City Yacht Club, Surf City Hotel, Brant Beach Yacht Club, Parker’s Garage and Oyster Saloon in Beach Haven, Sea Shell Resort and Beach Club in Beach Haven and Daymark in Barnegat Light.

Tour-only locations – venues that are open for viewing – are as follows: Plantation Restaurant in Harvey Cedars; The Arlington in Ship Bottom; daddy O in Brant Beach; and The Gables, Tuckers Tavern, the Beach Haven Tuna and Marlin Club and the LBI Historical Museum, all in Beach Haven.

“In addition to dozens of prize drawings at each location, several tour-only stops will include food and fun, providing alternative spots for pre- and post-parties,” said Pepenella, who pointed out the benefit of “potential hosts meeting directly with the experts of the services they need, enabling them to take advantage of booking right at the event.”

There will also be an opportunity for all who complete the entire itinerary to enter to win an anniversary overnight package for an overnight stay at The Mainland and at the new Hotel LBI, in Ship Bottom.

Register in advance at, or by calling the chamber of commerce at 609-494-7211 or stopping by its visitors center at 265 West Ninth St. in Ship Bottom. The website includes a list of all participating chamber members.
