Safety Questioned

Aug 28, 2019

To the Editor:

Here are some questions for the LBI school board:

1. Why are our children allowed to enter the Long Beach Island Grade School when the structural system for this building is approaching the end of its lifespan, according to the August 2018 structural condition survey, as reported to the LBI school board?

2. Why are the board chair and school superintendent heavy-handedly insisting on pushing through a many-multi-million-dollar renovation of a building with existing damaged conditions that appear to have worsened in the same locations and will continue to worsen?

3. Indeed, why has our children’s safety been placed at risk for over a year?
