Stafford Township — For the past seven years, runners, cyclists and swimmers have helped raise thousands of dollars to help the David’s Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation in its mission to assist local families in need during their fights against cancer. On Sunday, June 9, they will gather to compete once again in the Stafford Run for Hope.

Starting with a triathlon at 7 a.m., the colossal athletic competition also includes duathlon, aquabike and 5K events. Everything starts and finishes at Manahawkin Lake Park. The triathlon features a quarter-mile swim, 12-mile bike and 5K run, while the duathlon will start with a 2-mile run, then transition to the 12-mile bike and 5K run, and the aquabike event is a quarter-mile swim and 12-mile bike race. The triathlon and duathlon also can be completed by a team.

Registration fees until June 2 are: $80 per competitor for the triathlon, and $70 per person for the duathlon and aquabike. Runners for the 5K can register for $30 per person through June 7, when registration officially closes. Team triathlon and team duathlon fees are $100 and $70, respectively. Trident Multisport is the timing company for the event.
