West Bay Avenue in Barnegat Gets New Coat Soon

By Eric Englund | Aug 16, 2019

Barnegat Township — In September, resurfacing along West Bay Avenue is scheduled to begin, Barnegat Township Committeeman Albert Bille said at the Aug. 6 committee meeting.

Bille said work on the county-owned road would extend from Fourth Street west to Mirage Boulevard, sometime between Sept. 8 and 13.

He said that between Sept. 20 and 30, the county is looking to resurface West Bay Avenue from Fourth Street east to Sandpiper Lane.

“Al (Mayor Alfonso Cirulli) and I had a meeting with Virginia Haines, the county freeholder director, to see if we can get this work done, and we were pleased with the outcome,” he said.

Bille said the contractor is Earle Asphalt, based in Monmouth County.

“I would expect that much of this work will be done overnight, so that it would not impact traffic,” he said. “But you’re still going to have to drive carefully around this area while the work is still in progress.”  —E.E.
