Ship Bottom — The New York Red Bulls this summer will be offering several opportunities for youngsters to hone their soccer skills and learn more of the fundamentals in a fun environment when the club hosts its Red Bulls Academy Summer Camp at the LBI Elementary School in Ship Bottom for week-long clinics. The first week for the camp will be July 8-12; the second is scheduled for Aug. 12-16.

Camp objectives are for players to obtain a mastery of skills through maximum ball contacts, expert coaching and daily homework assignments, remain connected to the professional game, keep players invested in their own development long after the camp concludes, and focus on development according to age and ability level. Much of the week will be tailored to developing specific skills, such as dribbling and one-on-one maneuvering, passing, receiving and shooting. Each day has a different theme to add to the fun.

Each Red Bulls camp features beginner to elite level curriculum and professionally trained male and female coaches, along with CPR and first aid qualified staff. All participants are given a complimentary Red Bulls soccer ball, T-shirt and ticket to a regular-season home match.

For the July dates, half-day skills camp for players ages 7 to 14 is from 8:30 a.m. to noon and costs $275 per player, while the full-day camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $335 per player. The Mini Bulls camp for 5- and 6-year-olds is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and costs $220 per player. Sibling discounts are available.

For August, half-day camp costs $250 per player, while full-day camp costs $310 per player and Mini Bulls camp costs $195 per player until July 29, when the late-registration fees increase to $275, $335 and $220, respectively.
