Professional Lifesavers

Jul 10, 2019

To the Editor:

We were enjoying the spectacular Fourth of July in the ocean with our grandchildren when conditions started changing rapidly. A very large riptide developed. The beach patrol quickly hauled in about half a dozen folks who were swept about 200 yards out in an instant. The guards quietly and with precision emptied the swim zone and moved it north.

The beach patrol should be commended for their professionalism. The training they do was on display. We thank them for keeping us safe and for their dedication to their job.
