Play and Support Community FoodBank of NJ at Loveladies Tennis Club on July 26

Loveladies — If tennis is your game, mark your calendar and plan to get involved in the Loveladies Tennis Club’s annual fundraising event to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. The Love/One III event is scheduled for Friday, July 26, from 5 p.m. until dusk.

Last year’s event raised nearly $12,000, during which 55 players participated.

“We had a 10 percent increase in players from the year before and, better yet, a 20 percent increase in donations,” said Bob Kopech, who along with his wife, Michelle, organized the fundraiser. “The feedback we received about it was all positive, and everybody had a good time. But most importantly, the money’s going to the right place for the right purpose.”

Playing in a round-robin format, matching players of varying skill levels to play purely for fun, participants are asked to make a donation of $50 or more.

With two locations in Hillside and Egg Harbor Township, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the state’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, which works with volunteers, donors and many partners to help individuals and families in need of assistance.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance at cfbnj.org/loveoneiii. For those who want to register in person or donate cash, envelopes are available to pick up at the club, located at Riviera Drive and Long Beach Boulevard in Loveladies.
