Little Egg Harbor — As music blared at the school parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 28, seniors at Pinelands Regional High School took paintbrushes and rollers in hand and personalized their parking spaces as a fundraiser for the 2020 senior class.

They spent all day in painting mode, as layers had to dry before more detailed painting was done, and some made it a family affair. Emma Capriglione, captain of the volleyball team, brought her parents, Andy and Tara, to help with the volleyball motif. “Yeah, it’s fun,” she said.

Andrianna Dancisin, her mother, Andrienne, and her boyfriend Anthony Diaz painted a cheerful Spongebob Squarepants and his catchphrase “Me Hoy Monoy,” on her rectangle.

Gina Van Orden proudly proclaimed her choice of career in her artwork. This is her fourth year with the New Jersey State Police Explorers and she holds the rank of lieutenant. Van Orden hopes to enter the academy after graduation.

Lots of other seniors plunked down the $25 for the fun of painting their parking spot. This is the first time the school has permitted the activity, said Principal Troy Henderson.
