Manahawkin — After 10 years as board president of The Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean, Dan Taylor of G. Anderson Agency is stepping down and turning over the reins to Peg Cullen Reynolds, general manager and a co-owner of Reynolds Garden Shop and Floral Market. Reynolds was unanimously elected president at the board’s annual meeting June 17.

At the same meeting, Taylor announced that he would prefer to step back to enjoy more family time. He will remain a very active member of the board, of which he was a founding member 25 years ago.

Reynolds has been involved with the foundation since its inception, and has been a board member for over 10 years. She is pleased to serve in her new post.

“I am so looking forward to working along with the great team we have on the foundation,” she said “We have a lot of work to do for the many people affected by hunger in our area.”

All other officers of the board will remain serving in their previous positions: Chris Schwab, vice president; Ellen Dondero Meyer, treasurer; and Pam Zeleznok, secretary.

The Hunger Foundation financially supports eight local food pantries and has given over $1 million in order to support hunger relief efforts in the community.

Board members offered Taylor their deepest thanks for all he contributed over the years as president, and all look forward to supporting Reynolds in her tenure, noted an announcement of the change.

The Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean also invited supporters in the public to donate in honor of Taylor’s years of service. “His dedication to providing financial help to those in need in our area is unequaled,” thanked the board.
