Little Egg Harbor, NJ — After being closed since mid-October, the Little Egg Harbor branch of the Ocean County Library will reopen on Monday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. Located at 290 Mathistown Rd., the branch was shut down after a power surge from a transformer located nearby knocked out the electrical system.

“It had to be completely replaced,” said Kate Sanchez, supervising librarian for public relations. “People could still borrow materials from any other branch. The Tuckerton branch is the closest, about 3 miles away, and many of the people who use Little Egg went there.”

In addition, Sanchez said various special programs that were scheduled at the Little Egg branch were moved to the Tuckerton facility.

“We are looking forward to welcoming back our Little Egg Harbor patrons and staff,” said Susan Quinn, Ocean County Library director. “Our maintenance team and technicians have been working hard to open our most southern branch. Thank you for all your patience during the repairs.”

The Little Egg Harbor branch is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Telephone is 609-294-1197. E.E.
