Toms River — Next month, in addition to its regular sky shows and laser shows, the Robert J. Novins Planetarium will premiere the documentary “World 2 War,” about the second World War. The film, paid for in part by a grant from the OCC Foundation, will be shown at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 – Veterans Day – and the following Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m.

As the planetarium staff explains, “‘World 2 War’ is an action-packed full-dome film that combines cinematic battle scenes with informative overviews of the battlefield and historic reference from photos and videos. ‘World 2 War’ is the first true full-dome, full-length documentary about the second World War.”

Active members of the U.S. military and eligible veterans can receive 20 percent off any regularly priced show tickets at the planetarium. Discounted tickets must be purchased at the planetarium box office, and a valid Common Access Card or Uniformed Services Privilege Identification Card must be shown.
