New Jersey Maritime Museum Presents a Presentation by Dale Parsons

An oyster and clam aquaculturist, Parsons is a fifth generation bayman from Tuckerton and seafood purveyor. Beginning in the 1990s, Parsons began teaching himself aquaculture, the science of growing seafood in controlled environments.

After Superstorm Sandy knocked out his large aquaculture center in Tuckerton, Parsons started a new aquaculture project at the end of Radio Road at Great Bay Marina. He also has a major role in the Barnegat Bay Partnership Shellfish Working Group, which is rebuilding an oyster reef in Little Egg Harbor Bay.

Parsons’ presentation will begin at 7 p.m., but happy hour drink prices and complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 6.

A $10 fee to offset expenses is collected at the door. Active museum members have until Monday, May 6, to reserve seats, after which time nonmembers can reserve any remaining seats.
