Meet Author Lisa Fantino in Beach Haven Oct. 12

Beach Haven — The Beach Haven Public Library invites the community to meet author Lisa Fantino on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. She will be signing copies of her third book, Fractured.

Her first book, a travel memoir titled Amalfi Blue, went to No. 1 on Kindle in three countries. She is also the author of a political thriller, Shrouded in Pompeii.

Released last April, her third book introduces gutsy New York City detective Maggie Flynn, who is investigating a series of murders that struck too close to home more than a decade ago. She wonders if it is the same killer or a psychotic copycat. Maggie must learn to survive squad politics before another innocent life is lost. It’s a dangerous game, especially when the prime suspect may be one of their own.

“I’ve been coming to Long Beach Island for 40 years and wrote much of this book during my vacations here,” the author said.

Fantino has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University and holds a law degree from Pace University School of Law. An attorney with a practice in Mamaroneck, N.Y., she spent 20 years as an on-air reporter for new radio stations WCBS-AM and WINS-AM and was also an anchor at NBC radio outlets.

She said she developed an appreciation for reading and writing at an early age, with a father who encouraged her to read books and a mother who would create her own stories.

“I’m happy that I’m going to have a chance to share my book with people at the library, because Beach Haven is a wonderful town that means so much to me,” said Fantino. “The Island is a nice place to do writing, especially when it’s nice and quiet.”
