Beach Haven — Beach Haven Deputy Borough Manager Mary Clare Bunce has added a title to her resume – deputy borough clerk. The borough council recently appointed her to the latter position, replacing Kristy Davis, who is now the borough clerk of Ship Bottom.

Bunce said she will assist Sherry Mason, borough manager/clerk, in various capacities. “I’ll help run the offices when she (Mason) isn’t here,” she said.

Bunce joined the borough work staff as a receptionist in the clerk’s office in 2016.

“I had been coming down to the Island since I was born, as my grandparents had a home in Spray Beach,” she said. “I had always wondered what it would be like to live and work in Beach Haven, and I’m finding that is a great experience.”

Mason said, “She has done an awesome job. She‘s very patient and courteous in dealing with the public, so she’ll be a great fit.”  —E.E.
