Lenny Rivera Art Work on Display in June

By ERIC ENGLUND | Jun 12, 2019

Barnegat — The Barnegat branch of the Ocean County Library will feature a “Lenny Rivera Pop Art Exhibit” during the month of June. Rivera works in line art with computer color, a style used in comic books and graphic novels worldwide.

The New York-born Rivera, who is on the staff of the branch, said, “As far back as I can remember I was always into movies and comics, my two great passions in life. I started to draw at an early age and am mostly self-taught. The tools I use are traditional pencil and ink, and then I use Photoshop to create the color art, add effects, and to make manipulations and corrections. I also use acrylics and watercolors to do paintings, and professional quality markers to do sketches.”

Rivers said one of his favorite fictional characters is Wonder Woman because she “represents compassion and strength.”
