Learn Mosquito Control at Tuckerton Seaport April 10

Apr 02, 2019

Learn to control pests without the use of pesticides at the Tuckerton Seaport’s Lunch and Learn program on April 10. Citizen AcTS is a program developed by Dr. Dina Fonseca of Rutgers University that engages communities to develop mass-trap deployments to control mosquitoes in their neighborhoods. This alternative minimizes or even eliminates the use of insecticides that often flow into the marsh or other waterways as pollution.

Cost is $2 per person (payable at the door) for a choice of two seatings, one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 12:30 p.m. For the 12:30 program, participants can order lunch from the Union Market. Lunch is $8 and will include soup, sandwich and coffee from a choice of three sandwiches. Call the Union Market at 609-879-5799 to place your order, and pick up your lunch at the restaurant the day of the Lunch and Learn presentation.

Space is limited in the Hunting Shanty of the Seaport, so all must register ahead of time by calling the Seaport at 609-296-8868. —P.J.
