LBT Collecting Plastic Eggs for Upcoming Easter Egg Hunt

Mar 27, 2019

As per Easter tradition, local youngsters will soon be seeking and finding colorful eggs filled with treats. Long Beach Township’s Easter Egg Hunt – organized by the Long Beach Township PBA 373 and LBT Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Where Angels Play Foundation – is set for 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Lauren Rousseau’s Playground in Bayview Park.

As organizers noted, “In an effort to reduce, reuse and recycle (and save money) we would appreciate any and all donated plastic eggs to refill for this event. Donated plastic eggs can be dropped off at the LBT Police Department lobby.”

The township also asks that those attending this free event bring a penny to help celebrate the life of Rousseau, a teacher killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012. “We run this Easter Egg Hunt in coordination with the ‘Where Angels Play Foundation,’ which donated the playground,” said LBT Community Policing Officer Megan Keller.

Entry to the Easter Egg Hunt at the park in Brant Beach is free, but guests should bring their own baskets. The event will include music and refreshments. (Rain date is April 14.)  —J.K.-H.
