LBI Library Collecting Toys for Tots

Nov 11, 2019

Through Saturday, Dec. 7, the Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City will partner with the Beach Haven Division and Ship Bottom Division of the First Aid Squad in participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots collection drive.

The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children. The objectives of the Toys for Tots Foundation are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future.

Anyone wishing to donate a new, unwrapped toy may drop it off in the collection box inside the library during regular branch hours, Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The branch will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. —E.E.
