LBI Kiwanis Fundraiser Aids Community Groups

The Kiwanis Club of LBI recently started its annual 50/50 fundraiser to aid various charitable and community organizations. The donation is $100; only 350 tickets will be sold.

Bud and Faith Dixon, fundraiser coordinators, said there are nine ways to win: one prize at 25 percent of the proceeds, two prizes at 5 percent of the proceeds, one prize at 4 percent of the proceeds, one prize at 3 percent of the proceeds and four prizes at 2 percent of the proceeds.

The drawing date is Thursday, Sept. 5, at 5:30 p.m. at the Ship Bottom Firehouse. Winners need not be present; they will be called immediately after the drawing.

“People can also split the ticket in half with family or friends at $50 each, or four ways at $25 each or $10 apiece,” said Faith Dixon.

Proceeds benefit the Maximilian Foundation, scholarships, youth citizen awards, fire companies, first aid squads, school programs and Alliance for a Livng Ocean among others.
