Stafford Township — September starts in a few days, and that means it’s almost time to step dance your way to the annual Ocean County Irish Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7. Hosted by the Ocean County chapter of The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, the festival featuring everything Irish is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Manahawkin Lake Park in Stafford Township. Admission is free.

As always, the event will have plenty of food and beer to go around, along with vendors selling their wares. On the entertainment slate are the Devrin Academy of Dance, the Ocean County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, Starlight Academy and the bands Captain and O’Neill, The Eammon Ryan Band and Bloody Callan.

For those interested in being vendors or sponsors, forms can be found on the group’s website at oceanfsos.wildapricot.org/Irish-Festival. And if you want to stay in contact with the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, visit facebook.com/OceanFSOS.  —D.B.
