Impressive Candidates

Oct 09, 2019

To the Editor:

We have just read about freeholder candidates Jean Czarkowski and Dave Wright (JeanandDaveForFreeholder.com) and are quite impressed by their quality, earnestness, compassion, dedication to the public good and experience – so needed in this year’s election!

Jean is a lifelong resident of Ocean County. Dave grew up on Long Beach Island. Jean has a master’s degree in social work and has served as an adjunct professor in sociology, criminal justice and education at Kean University. For the past 17 years, Jean has worked as an elementary school counselor where she has developed several nationally recognized programs and services for her students. Dave is an attorney with the Wright law firm and focuses on protecting injured workers and consumers throughout the state. He is a trustee and board member for several nonprofits.

Jean is skillful at building highly successful programs, often with little or no budget. She knows how to keep costs down, use data to make decisions and implement interventions. She has a comprehensive vision for addressing critical issues such as the opioid crisis, economic insecurity, infrastructure, community safety, the environment and small business development. Jean has the expertise and vision to forge coalitions so that our community can move ahead, cooperate and set aside our differences.

Dave’s plans include effecting real change in the way Ocean County is run. This includes real action to protect Barnegat Bay, eliminate patronage jobs and implement effective approaches to combat the opioid crisis that has impacted the lives of so many in the county.

Spend some time with these candidates at one of two meet and greets on Sunday, Oct. 13 on the Island. On the north end, they will be at the home of Sue and Paul Muller, 12 Cox Ave., Harvey Cedars from 4:30 to 6 p.m. (call 609-494-6585). On the south end, join the candidates at the home of Marianne and Bill Malone, 6  90th St., Peahala Park from 6 to 8 p.m. (call 201-615-2603).

It’s time for some new ideas and experience and representation for LBI on the freeholder board. You can make it happen!
