Give ‘Gift of Warmth’  Through St. Francis Center

By Maria Scandale | Nov 08, 2019

Brant Beach — As the weather has finally turned colder, the St. Francis Community Center reminds everyone in the community to think about its Gift of Warmth Project. The annual holiday project “is underway and we need your help,” invites an announcement from the center. “This project is focused on keeping the children in our community warm throughout the winter.”

In past years, this project has provided 275 families with bedding, clothing and footwear, said Lori Dudek, St. Francis Parish and Community Center communications coordinator.

Anyone interested in being a part of this year’s project can help in the following ways:

• Sponsor a family: provide “Gifts of Warmth” to all children in a particular family. If you would like to sponsor a family or need more information, call 609-494-8861, extension 197.

• Monetary donations (including gift cards) may be mailed to: 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, N.J. 08008 or dropped off at the front desk of the community center.

• Grab a tag! Tags with gift requests are located at the community center and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brant Beach.

Gifts should be returned no later than Dec. 9 at the St. Francis Community Center foyer.

The items will begin to be distributed on Dec. 12 and 13.

Information is available on the website or by calling 609-494-8861.

“We appreciate all of the support our community provides to serve those in need. This project would not be possible without you,” said the center announcement.  —M.S.
