The Garden Club of LBI invites children in grades three to six to paint and decorate a flower pot and plant a spring arrangement at the Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City on  Wednesday, April 17, 3:30 p.m.

Gillian Rozicer, club publicity coordinator, said the theme is celebrating Earth Day and children will learn about color and design and the names of flowers and greens. The Youth Committee of the LBI Garden Club will guide the children and organize a fun flower bingo game.

Children’s librarian Kristen Crepezzi said this is the third of four programs at the branch sponsored by the garden club.

“It’s been a great partnership,” she said. “After each program, the kids come home with their own beautiful flower arrangement. And the attendance has been improving since the first one we did.”

To register, call Crepezzi at 609-494-2480, extension 7109.  —E.E.
