Fun and Free Wednesdays for the Summer in Beach Haven

By ERIC ENGLUND | Jun 19, 2019

Beach Haven — When Beach Haven celebrated its 125th anniversary three years ago, residents and visitors had free access to the beach as well as to the borough’s tennis/pickleball courts and public boat ramp every Wednesday during the summer season. The feedback from “Fun Day” was so positive that the town has made it an annual summer tradition.

Sherry Mason, borough manager/clerk, said that beginning June 26, people will be given access to exclusive Wednesday deals, including coupons toward many of the town’s restaurants, shops and nonprofits.

“It’s a great way to attract people to Beach Haven,” said Mason. “It helps us in being a business- and tourist-friendly community.”

Barb Cona, president of the Beach Haven Chamber of Commerce, said various local business are offering discounts on Wednesdays. She said the chamber website (beachhavenchamber.com) will have a list of participating businesses and what they are offering by the end of the month.

June 26 also kicks off the free concert series, sponsored by the Beach Haven Community Arts Program, at Veterans Memorial Park, beginning at 7 p.m.

“The concert is a perfect ending to a great day,” said Mason.

The borough website beachhaven-nj.gov will also be posting information.  —E.E.
