Scientists throughout the state are working together to create more resilient ecosystems, and Amy Williams, New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium’s coastal ecosystems extension agent, will discuss this and more at the April 6 installment of Science Saturday. The presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the main building of the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies.

“Learn about the different types of living shoreline projects that increase ecological benefits while combating destructive erosion,” said LBIF membership and community coordinator Jillian Schratz. “Dr. Williams will explain the efforts being conducted by NJSGC, Stevens Institute of Technology and the New Jersey Coastal Resiliency Collaborative through grants and citizen science networks.”

Admission to Science Saturday, organized by the LBIF Science Committee, is free for Foundation members. A $5 donation per person is requested from all other attendees.
