Election Concern

Jun 26, 2019

To the Editor:

I am writing regarding the article on June 12 about the shortage of poll (election) workers in Ocean County for the primary election.

My worry is concerning the 2020 election if there is still a shortage of poll workers. For sure there will be long lines. What is the Ocean County Election Board doing to eliminate this potential problem?

A possibility is some advertising that despite the long hours, the pay of $200 for one day is quite attractive. I believe the requirements are mainly that one is a registered voter.
