Tuckerton — For one day only, dogs will have their run of the Tuckerton Seaport during “The Dogs Days of Summer,” Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This festival will feature an “All American Picnic,” local craft beer, live music, family and pet-friendly activities sponsored by the Rancocas Veterinary Associates. Dogs will be bobbing for tennis balls, posing for pet portraits and, to the delight of two-legged friends, participating in a puppy petting zoo. Meet and greet different breeds of dogs looking for good families to join.

Beat the summer heat with a pop-up mini-water spray ground, for kids, dogs and anyone trying to cool off.

An advanced admission picnic pass is $20/person (kids younger than 5 are free) and includes a picnic voucher for a make-your-own ice cream sundae from Cold Stone Creamery, selections from the raw clam bar, hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, lemonade and doggy-bags of treats.

Beer from Pinelands Brewing will be available for purchase.

Activities will also include a Rubber Ducky Race. Sponsor a duck for $5.  All ducks will be released into the creek at 3 p.m. The first one to cross the finish line will win a “Full Moon Sail” aboard the Pohatcong II on Sept. 14 with dessert catered by The Union Market and Gallery for the winner and 23 of his/her friends.

General admission picnic passes for nonmembers are $20. Members get free admission, but can add a picnic pass for $10. Passes can be purchased at tuckertonseaport.org. A rain date is Sunday, Aug. 11.  —P.J.
