Toms River — The thrill of rolling the dice combines with the satisfaction of doing something good for kids when Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County holds its annual Casino Night on Friday, Sept. 20 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Ramada in Toms River.

“Help kids get a Big Brother/Sister, a mentor, a positive role model, and have some fun while your doing it,” the organization invites supporters.

“Join us for an exciting night of gaming, music, buffet, open bar, mystery board, wine toss, 50/50 raffle, and large gift auction.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring programs address education, ways to foster better relationships at school and home, as well as recognize the fact that many children are exposed to drug use in the home, BBBS of Ocean County organizers said. They have partnered with local police departments and volunteers from the community to help these children.

Entrance ticket of $100 per person includes $100 in playing chips, dinner buffet, premium open bar, casino games, live entertainment and chances to win prizes. Anyone who donates $100 to the group before the event will receive an additional $1000 in gaming chips.

For information about being a sponsor of the event, to donate, or to learn more about the program, visit the website bbbsoc.org or call 732-505-3400.

Although they are part of a national organization, BBBS of Ocean County is self-funded through donations, grants, fundraising and sponsors. “All of the money we receive goes right back into benefiting kids that need it the most in Ocean County.”  —M.S.
