Carole King Tribute at Surflight on July 8 Almost Sold Out

Beach Haven —

As this is being written there are only a handful of available tickets left for “Tapestry, The Carole King Songbook” at Beach Haven's Surflight Theatre on Monday, July 8 at 5:30 and 8 pm.

So if you want to see Canadian songstress Suzanne O. Davis perform King’s hits in concert you’d better get online at surflight.org or call 609-492-9477 ASAP to avoid being shut out. All tickets are $37.50.

Davis had plenty of material to choose from when designing her tribute show. Over the course of her decades-long career King made 25 solo albums and wrote or co-wrote an amazing 118 songs that made the Billboard Hot 100!

“Tapestry,” though, was her masterpiece, so Davis performs the entire album in her tribute show, including such memorable numbers as “Beautiful,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “It's Too Late,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and “Natural Woman.” She adds some of Kings songs from the 1960s and sprinkles in some of Kings stories behind the hits, making the show a faithful reproduction of Kings concerts in the 1970s.  —R.M.
