Capital Singers Conclude Holy Innocents’ Spring Concert Series

Beach Haven — The Capital Singers of Trenton performed “An Afternoon of Opera and Musical Theatre,” the final concert in the spring concert series at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Beach Haven, on Sunday, June 9. The program included pieces from opera and musical theater, featuring both the full choir and the smaller, auditioned chorale, as well as several solos, duets and a trio.

Capital Singers, an 80-member ensemble that serves as the choral voice of the capital region, is led by Artistic Director and Conductor Vinroy D. Brown Jr., with Assistant Conductor Ellen J. Dondero, accompanist Spenser R. Gallo and pianist Zackary D. Ross. Choral selections were from “Hansel and Gretel,” “Cavalleria Rusticana,” “The Tender Land,” “Treemonisha” and “Hair”; solo and duet selections were from “Lakmé,” “The Ballad of Baby Doe,” “Sunday in the Park with George,” “A … My Name is Alice,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Brigadoon,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” “Regina,” “Waitress,” “The Secret Garden,” “Diamonds,” and more.
