Surf City — It’s that time of year in the Garden State, when the fruits (and vegetables, too) of labor unleash fresh ingredients for all to take a bite (a food bite, that is) out of summer. The Surf City Volunteer Fire Co. and EMS makes it easy for Island locals, seasonal residents and summer visitors to get a taste of all that New Jersey goodness with its annual Farmers Market.

Local produce and artisan crafts will be on display and available for sale in the firehouse parking lot, 713 Long Beach Blvd., from 9 a.m. to noon every Monday, beginning June 24 and ending Aug. 26. Organic produce, as well as local fresh baked goods and breads, are also available at the weekly market.

The Farmers Market is a rain or shine event with different vendors and singers/musicians performing weekly, as available. —G.G.S.
