Barnegat Democrats, Town Committee Host Blood Drive on April 22

Apr 15, 2019

The Barnegat Democratic Club and Barnegat Township Municipal Committee, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, hosts a spring blood drive on Monday, April 22, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.  at the Barnegat Community/Recreation Center, 900 West Bay Ave., just behind town hall and the police station. Prospective donors can register at redcrossblood.org, but walk-ins will also be welcomed.

“In the wake of all the gun violence and natural disasters occurring throughout the country, donating blood has become even more essential and immediate,” said Marianne Clemente, Democratic club vice president. “Blood is always being sent to wherever the tragedy or disaster occurs, so our local supplies of blood are always being depleted and need to be replenished. We hope people will donate and save a life. In fact, save multiple lives, since a pint of your blood can be used for several purposes and save three to four lives.”

For more information, call Clemente at 212-249-6292. E.E.
