Andy Kim Holding Town Meeting in Barnegat April 27

Apr 17, 2019

Third District Congressman Andy Kim will host a town hall meeting in Barnegat Township on Saturday, April 27, at 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 232, 499 Main St. (Route 9). Kim’s district  stretches from the Delaware River to the Atlantic Ocean, encompassing most of Burlington County and parts of Ocean County.

“Our town halls aren’t just an opportunity for me to hear from people about issues on their mind, it’s an opportunity to take their thoughts and concerns back to Congress and take action,” said Kim in a press release. “I’ve heard from our neighbors on the need to lower health care costs and make our democracy work for us, and I’ve taken that message back and introduced bills that do just that.”

Marianne Clemente, Barnegat Democratic Club vice president, said Kim has done monthly town hall meetings in Burlington and Ocean counties since taking office in January. He defeated Republican incumbent Tom MacArthur in last November’s election.

“He’s very personable,” said Clemente. “At these meetings, he doesn’t get up on a stage and speak. Rather, he likes to mix with the people and take time to listen to their concerns.” E.E.
