On Feb. 28, Meals on Wheels will have a special campaign called “Mayor on Wheels,” whereby Little Egg Harbor Mayor Blaise Scibetta will donate his time helping to deliver meals to senior and low-income residents in the community.
Scibetta is also participating in a series of “Meet the Mayor” events around town, in order to meet residents and give them the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions to better the community.
The next event will be held on March 7, at 10 a.m. at the Little Egg Harbor branch of the Ocean County Library.
Scibetta also welcomes local small businesses to arrange their own Meet the Mayor event for a more casual meet and greet that may serve to spark more business.
Pinelands Brewing Co. was the first to host a Meet the Mayor event, which Scibetta reported was well attended and with “a lot of hard questions.” He added, “But if you’re sitting up here, you expect those hard questions.”
