The Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City is closed as it is having a new heating system installed.

“We are anticipating reopening the branch Friday, Jan. 27,” said Tom Mongelli, library system spokesman. “However, that date is subject to change.”

He said patrons with items on hold, ready for pickup, who were notified prior to the branch closure can collect their items at the Stafford branch, located at 129 North Main St. in Manahawkin. Customers are asked to call the Stafford branch at 609-597-3381 to confirm their items. Any newly requested items placed on hold at the LBI branch will be ready for pickup upon its reopening to the public.

Patrons are welcome to access the library system’s online resources, databases, eBooks, eMagazines, video and audio streams and digital classes.

Updates will be posted on the library system website, theoceancountylibrary.org.  —E.E.
