THE SANDPAPER is Southern Ocean County's free weekly newsmagazine. An entertaining mix of local news and human interest features combined with careful attention to design excellence is The SandPaper's trademark. Inspired use of photography plus graphically appealing layout are pursued in every issue. Comprehensive entertainment and calendar listings for Long Beach Island and the adjacent mainland make the publication popular with active and vital readers. Regular coverage of activities unique to the New Jersey Shore (fishing, boating etc.) rounds out The SandPaper's editorial offering.

FORMAT: The SandPaper follows a newsmagazine format, combining elements of both newspaper and magazine design. It is tabloid in size and printed on high-quality newsprint. Where it benefits reader and advertisers, similar types of advertising are loosely grouped into sections.

SECTION II... Focus on Entertainment: From late spring to early fall an extra section called Section II appears in The SandPaper. Section II is exclusively  focused on entertainment, recreation and restaurants, and serves to highlight these offerings during the busy summer season.

The SandPaper covers all of Long Beach Island's communities - Beach Haven, Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars and Barnegat Light. On the adjacent mainland, Stafford Township, Barnegat Township, Ocean Township, Eagleswood Township, Tuckerton, Little Egg Harbor Township and New Gretna are covered.

DEADLINE: The deadline for display advertising is 5 p.m. the Monday preceding the date of publication. Proofs are available on ad copy received by the Friday immediately preceding the Wednesday publication date.

DISTRIBUTION: The SandPaper and The Beachcomber are distributed free, via bulk delivery, to virtually every business in their covering areas. During the summer season, distribution to Realtors is greatly increased so that renters starting vacation are assured a copy.
